I need information for Victorian antique furniture with DB & Co written on it???

I have a suite in a late 18th century bedroom with DB & Co hand written vavious places. except that it has no identifying marks. I need some information about it … what might be worthwhile, the company is, and whatever else you got? I searched but came up empty-handed. thanks in advance.

Hello. Without seeing it or have more information that is difficult say … There are several companies that DB is used not to second guess but, are you sure the B is not a P? Most furniture companies, especially those who use labels produce many pieces, an indication that a label may have been? If not, can only be a rare piece. A good start would be to gather some history and facts about the piece. What kind of wood is made of? Some woods can help identify their age and manufacturer. How do you put together (all wood? no nails in it? screws would be a piece C. 20a.), If you know their origin or whence it came, it will also help narrow your search. How do you know which is a 18th C piece? Check the style of the piece, the kind of legs or feet can help identify a piece and age, as well as the decoration of it. Is it a piece Arts & Crafts, Victorian, Edwardian … There are resource books of many ancient furniture, some are free to read on the Web – Books on Google. If you know the origin Part of the Historical Society could try what city or state, they would have lists of all companies doing business there or help you find more information. To find the value, I would not send a photo to Doyles major auction houses, Sothebys, Christies, fur, or one near you which has the special auctions for furniture-all the major auction houses receive photographs, mostly by email, hoping to send their articles. Usually the manufacturer will tell you and value, even if they have the minimum amount of postage. Or … you can join a forum of antique furniture and ask your question there, or Webstores search of antique furniture, or even catalogs of auction house until you find something similar (most likely you).
